Collection: Sarah's Story 1830-1850 by Betsy Chutchian for Moda

Sarah's Story is based on three antique quilts in Betsy Chutchian's collection dating from 1830-1840's and from Sarah Josepha Hale (1788-1879).

Sarah was a poet, an author and editor of Godey's Lady Book for 40 years.  It was in Godey's that the hexagon design first appeared in an American periodical in 1835.
