Show Season is Almost Upon Us
Hi Everyone I am gearing up for the show season that is just around the corner. The first show that I will be at is.
Mississippi Valley Textile Museum 23rd Annual Fibrefest
Saturday September 8 10am-5pm
Sunday September 9 10am-4pm
Admission is $5/day
I am teaching two classes at this show. The first is for beginners that may be interested in leaning a little bit about quilting with out needing to buy all the tools. This is a tablerunner all the pieces will be cut so you will not need to cut anything. You will need a sewing machine in working order. This class is called Simple Machine Patchwork Tablerunner.
The second class is called English Paper Piecing this class is done by hand and you need some quilting experience.
you can find out all about these classes at www.almontefibrefest.ca
I will have a booth at this show please come and visit me if you are going to be in driving distance.
For this season shows I have brought in new products
These are five inch strips salvage to salvage one strip of each, twelve different fabrics all put together in colour waves. My daughter came up with some really fun names for the colour waves.
Red - Bloody Mary
Blue- Ocean Waves
White and Black- Midnight
Off White- Beach Sand
Green- Pea Soup
Each package of strips adds up to 1.5 meter of fabric. What fun.
This past spring I added to my patterns designer Laura Heine . For those that are not familiar with her patterns she does Collages. I love her patterns they are a great way to put a (we can only hope) dent into that stash.
Lola & Olive
Flaura...My Vintage Trailer Collage
these patterns are full size so there is no need to enlarge them.
Of course in the spring I brought in Elizabeth Hartman's new patterns.
Northern Star, Love this pattern and I would like to do one of the blocks not sure which one I would like to do, I love them all. Each block is 24 inches square.
Penguin Party How cute are they you can do them in any colour or fabric theme. LIke Christmas Fabrics for there sweaters.
Penguin Party is one that I would like to do next when I am finished my Awesome Ocean. I am half way through and hope this fall to start on the next row of sea creatures.
This quilt Pattern has been really fun to work on and I have been just having so much fun making it. Elizabeth Hartman patterns are great to follow and understand how each creature is put together. Her patterns all patchwork and can be done by machine.
A little up date on my last blog about opening up a can of worms I finished quilting the two door covers and they have made a huge differents in keeping the cool air in the studio. All that is left to do is to turn the binding and sew it down I will do this in the winter. I am so happy with how it all turned out.
Well I am bring in new fabrics and new products this fall so stay tuned.
